I have to admit when I first got to the Taj, it was about 100deg, super crowded, and loud. I was alone and a bit overwhelmed with all that was happening around me. There was major work being done and scaffolding was everywhere. I did not get what was so special...my experience was not giving me any reason to be in awe of this place.
But I forced myself to stop and think bigger picture. I put my camera away, closed my eyes and shut out all the noice. Then it hit me - what the Taj stood for, the magnitude of monument, the story and the way it has stood the test of time. I felt like I was a million miles away and was really about to appreciate everything that my mind's eye was seeing and my heart was experiencing.
Isn't it funny how sometimes the most amazing things loose their luster because we expect so much from it? But if you hold on to just the simplicity of it all, it blows your mind!
Looking forward to another visit to the Taj soon! and this time, I will be better prepared :)
