In the first few months after my accident it was really hard for me to focus on the future and make decisions about my life. I felt so lost.
While I did have people, who supported me, like my family and friends, I always felt something missing. What helped me find my way back, was seeing all these amazing wheelchair users on Instagram wheeling through life, overflowing with positivity, sharing their ups and downs with the world. They gave me so much strength and courage. They helped me see a light at the end of the tunnel and gave me the opportunity to relate to them. They experience the same struggles and difficulties I do and more importantly, they let me see into the future/what my life can look like. Each and every one of them has a different story and is moving forward at a different pace but they all have one thing in common: They keep going no matter what. And that’s the reason why I started writing about myself on Instagram too. If there is only one person out there who I can help through a text or story I share then it was already worth it. 🙏🏻
