New, vintage style woodcuts from @TheSawmillShop mix so well with haunting, antique finds. The Happy Owl-O-Ween poster style art is part of series of designs I created a few years ago, and we’ve brought them back for you to enjoy! I think they look spooktacular sitting amongst vintage Halloween collections. 🖤 As it’s #VintageTuesday , I gotta call out the old stuff that makes this vignette extra neat. There’s an antique wooden wagon back there that mom found for me! It’s the perfect patina hue of autumn red, and the wheels have the most delightful pumpkin orange paper designs glued on. Fragile as they are, this Art Deco pull toy won’t be wheeling around town, but it’s certainly a cool prop. I tucked in an old orange cat-on-a-fence lantern from the 1940s/50s era. His paper insert is likely new, but the indented circle on the base indicates an authentic piece. This is just a peek from my high nick-nack shelf, filled with a blend old things and new. I just look up for a dose of inspiration! SWIPE to see a close-up our round black cat woodcut, now being offered as well! Both, this illustration, along with the owl were featured in Celebrate Halloween Magazine back in 2011 as cupcake picks! I was their Designer Profile for the month, and what fun that was. Eight years later, I’m feeling a bit vintage myself as that magazine is no longer around! 🙀 Anyway, such is life, but luckily, you can find a growing medley of JPD designs through Erik, our collaborative partner @TheSawmillShop ~ ENJOY!!!
