Let’s talk about some glute activation! My lifting journey began with @bretcontreras1 ’s book, Strong Curves, where he discussed the importance of activation before performing glute exercises. Of course I thought I knew more than him and didn’t do then, but boy was I wrong! 🔅 The glutes are not only the largest muscle in your body, but also one of the most neglected. Because most of us spend a majority of our time sitting, these muscles are often “shut off” and other muscles will compensate, resulting in a highly quad-dominant person. 🔅 So what is muscle activation? Simple. By activating your muscles, you are “turning them on” so they fire at the right time. Try these three glute activation exercises before your next leg day and feel the crazy glute burn!
1️⃣ Mini Band Clamshells (3x15 each)
2️⃣ Frog Pumps (3x20)
3️⃣ Single Leg Floor Bridge on Foam Roller (3x10 each)
