This whole meal plus a full glass of orange juice was still less calories than ONE Texas BBQ King burger from @burgerking last night! To break plateaus you need variation! Something that challenges you differently then just the typical increasing and decreasing the weight and one way is time under tension training! TUT - It’s as simple as this, if one curl takes one second (for math purposes) and you do a set of 10. Your biceps have been under tension for 10 seconds. Well if you simply hold that contraction for 2 seconds you’re biceps have been under tension for 20 seconds. You just doubled the tension time within the same rep putting extra stress on the muscle that it’s not used to! - ✅preacher curs✅ 4 second stretch! - Tip👉🏻 when working the stretch portion of the rep make sure the primary muscle is still the main focus, you should be holding the weight with your biceps! NOT your forearms and shoulders! Keep that in mind when it starts getting tough cuz that’s the most important part of the rep! - More in story

Legs have not been my main priority these last couple of weeks but I do try to keep some type of resistance and volume in just to keep density and size. Yesterday I did 3 compounds with decent weight and a good amount of volume. If you’re someone who do not have all the time to get an hour+ of leg workout this would be a good session to get you by with a solid pump. 💦SLAM BALL HIIT💦 First things first: Thank you for all of your nice comments on my last post. ❤️🙏🏼 It’s not easy for me to let my guard down, so thank you for being here and following along. Social media can be tricky but I feel blessed to have this little fit community who encourages, lifts, and inspires. I hope I can continue to provide value to your scrolling feed. . Ok now the workout. Slam balls are one of my favorite pieces of equipment. There’s just something about slamming a ball down on the ground as hard as you can that just feels GOOD! 😆👊🏼 It’s also a killer total body move that gets the heart rate up like no other. 😰 . ⏱Grab a HIIT timer and do each move for 60 seconds work/20 seconds rest. Complete 3-5 rounds. Or just try adding any or all of these moves to your next strength circuit to throw in a little heart pumping cardio. . 1️⃣Roll-up slam 2️⃣4 bench hop-overs + 2 slams 3️⃣Modified pistol to SLDL (30 seconds per side) 4️⃣1 jump + 1 slam + 1 push-up . ᴄᴜʀʀᴇɴᴛ ᴘʜʏsɪǫᴜᴇ ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ . . I started this improvement season at the end of October 2018 weighing 119.6 lbs at my last show. Currently sitting at 142.2lbs. I usually don't go into detail with my macros but I figured some of you may be interested so here it goes. My current #macros are 375c, 73f, 171p, this works for ME AND MY BODY. My coach @supermanhasfallen had me reverse diet the right way after my last show and we've been able to increase macros in a #healthy way to get my metabolism in the right place. . . We are very happy with the #gains that I've made over the last few months and excited to start peeling some layers away to reveal the work I've put in. I officially start #prep in a couple weeks!! . . ** Again, these macros work for me. I have a naturally high matabolism and my body loves carbs. I also train hard and lift heavy. What works for me may not work for you.**

Disclaimer: I am in no way advocating or saying that you have to look a certain way. My weight loss was just a result from trying to get back in shape. I really debated on posting about this for a while, and to be frank, I’m still really unsure about this… I’ve been getting a lot of back handed compliments lately. Usually it’s someone referencing how “fat” or “big” I used to be and that they are “so proud” I lost weight or that I “look so much better now” 😒 Yeah, I get it. I gained weight. It happens. But what these people didn’t see was the stress and unhappiness I felt during my first year as an engineering student in college when I initially gained all the weight. Over the past few years, I found myself in a cycle of being inconsistent and just living a really unhealthy lifestyle. But a year ago, I realized it was time for a change. I got competitive with myself and started working out more consistently. No matter what happened, I was determined to stay on track. Easy, right? Wrong. It took time and dedication to develop a routine and better habits. It took intrinsic motivation. In my experience, the most effective reason to get in shape and stay in shape involves pure intrinsic motivation. You have to want it for you, not for anyone or anything else. Sure, wanting that beach body is good enough to get you started, but that type of motivation is fleeting. You need to do it because you truly want to. For me, I just got sick and tired of being sick and tired. I know it’s intimidating and discouraging at first, but just focus on you. I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to focus on what other people might be thinking. If they are worried about what you are doing, then that is their problem, not yours. Worrying about what haters think will not get you in shape or do the work for you. Only you can do that.
