This week is full of cake prep (5 of them 😜), packing, studying train routes around London, and wrapping up my last design consults of the summer. It wasn’t so long ago that I felt quite stuck indeed, and I am grateful for my current momentum that much more. If you are feeling stuck, make one small change. In my case, that looked like acknowledging a new interest in plants, almost four years ago now, like a small child with a tentatively raised hand. It was taking a class at Clemson, quitting fertility treatments, going to therapy, heading back to school with a new career in my sights. And on and on: one small thing to the next to the next, no shortcuts, no skipping the muddle. No denying that sometimes you have to put one dream down to discover another, and that is really, really hard. If you are unhappy in your current position I encourage you not to try to solve it in one swoop but to look instead for the point of light, however small, and walk bravely towards it.
PS if you want to see this flatlay in its glory, I posted it over on @tessapinner.
