ORGANISATION 🙌🏼 . . En ce moment avec le changement de région, de travail et le déménagement, l’organisation est juste obligatoire et encore plus carré que d’habitude 👀 . Je trouve toujours le temps pour les trainings dans tout ça même si cela me demande du temps mais j’en ai vraiment besoin ! 😌 C’est mon moment de pause dans tout ça ... 🙅🏻‍♀️ . Niveau diète j’essaye de suivre au maximum, avec un peu + d’écart que d’habitude je l’avoue 🙈. Mais j’emmène mes petits plats au travail, ce qui questionne beaucoup les enfants mais cela permet de leur expliquer aussi ! 👧🏽👦🏻 . Sleep! What we need to know and it’s effect on performance. _ We all love it but according to a recent study 1 in 3 people aren’t getting enough of it. _ Your sleep occurs in 5 different stages with each stage generally lasting between 90-120 mins (depending on if you actually get enough) during these cycles your body undergoes recovery, maintenance and adaption. - Interrupting of any of them cycles has been shown to have a negative impact on your performance in and out of the gym. Not getting enough sleep has been shown to _ ❌ - Reduce exercise capacity. ❌ - Decrease your ability to build muscle and cardiovascular fitness. ❌ - Decrease the ability to learn new skills. ❌ - Decrease in power output ❌ - Reduce reaction time, decision making and memory. ❌- Reduce injury recovery time. _ As you can see sleep deprivation has a impact of pretty much every aspect life. _ Things that effect sleep quality. _ ❌ - Travel time, traveling as little as 1-3 hours has been shown to have a influence on our sleep quality. ❌ - Exercising late in the day. ❌ - Repeated exercises over the course of the day. ❌ - Having a heavy meal shortly before bed. _ Tips to improve sleep quality. _ ✅ - Sleep hygiene, set yourself up a routine and stick to it. ✅ - Refrain from using blue light 1hr before bed. ✅ - Keep your room dark and cool. ✅ - Napping, 30minute nap throughout the day has been recently shown to improve sleep quality. _ All in all aim for anywhere between 6-8 hours a night. Even if you still feel tired after the 8 hours get up and get on with your day. So deadlifts are going well. Admittedly the numbers are piss poor but 180kg for a beltless triple is a huge PB (sort of). Tells me my back is genuinely the strongest it has been in approx 4 years. So I will gratefully accept this small bit of progress especially when I consider that a 1 rep 150 with a belt almost killed me 12-15 months ago because of my discs being all kind if fucked up. For real.. simple bodyweight workout using socks to help you sliiiiide across that floor doe. . I was legit sweating doing this, it looks easier than it is. See below for details.. . 1️⃣ pike ups - legs straight, pull feet as close to your hands as possible keeping weight in your hands. . 2️⃣ single leg pike ups - same as above, slightly harder keep both legs straight. . 3️⃣ speed mountain climbers, hips down and back flat bring knees into chest. . 4️⃣ leg curl - keep your hips up all the way as you slide your heels as far away from you as possible then back in. . 5️⃣ side plank wiper - try to keep your hips up in the plank, underneath leg straight and pull back. . With ab workouts I try to do 15-20 reps so aim for that for the above per exercise (double reps for single leg exercises obvs 💁🏼‍♀️) with the mountain climbers aim for 50 on each side 😬 3-4 rounds depending on time. . I still remember skipping gym everytime my training partner at the time would say it was back day! 🤔 - I couldnt do a chin up or lift much and i would hate never being able to see the body part I was training I had terrible connection with the muscles and i never felt it while training 🙄 - I started small, chin ups on the assisted machine Light weight movements to build up the form and connection with each muscle - After nearly 4 years of solid training I can safely say back is my favourite day at the gym! So... West 4 Gym in Chiswick. Swipe left for a mini video tour and read on on for my review. In terms of space; it's a small, cozy gym with all the equipment you'd possibly need, including cardio machines, fixed resistance machines, boxing bag, TRX and a great selection free weights. Additionally the gym has equipment that I haven't seen often such as the Skierg, rings, climbing ropes and crossfit pegboard. Despite its size, the equipment is arranged in such a way that there's plenty of room for stretching, and even the HIIT classes which they run on most days. Talking of which, I have participated in a Saturday HIIT class which I thoroughly enjoyed. The instructor, Rosangela was friendly and knowledgeable and made sure the exercises were challenging yet manageable for all participants. Would highly recommend her class. Generally, the staff are very helpful and approachable and are keeping the space pristine and members happy. Apart from all this, I loved the big windows and how much natural lighting they allow in which adds to the cosy yet spacious feel. And finally the changing rooms/showers are some of the best I've seen in terms of cleanliness and space. All in all, I loved everything about training here and believe it's a hidden gym gem 😜 #nofilter
