Are you willing to take a leap and make the changes needed to heal? Are you willing to walk the talk? Are you willing to face ridicule and cruel/ ignorant/ rude/ unkind comments? Are you willing to sacrifice your time, energy and effort in moving from point A to point B? Are you willing to let go of the fears which have held you from making significant progress in your fitness journey?These were some of the questions I had to answer as part of my recovery post-op myomectomy. And whenever it gets cold, my pain increases exponentially. Over the weekend it was the incision and it's not let up one bit. Today my left knee and long bones of my lower limbs decided to join the party; on leg day no less. I've since 1. Learnt that healing/ progress isn't linear. 2. Acknowledged that I'm gonna have good days and bad days. 3. Realized that eorking out is worth the good days. 4. Accepted that the bad days are part of my journey and that they don't last forever; thank God for that! Have you heard how insulin makes you fat? Well think again. . Insulin and insulin response and sensititvity are important parts of the weight loss/muscle gain/performance puzzle. HOWEVER, when it comes to fat or weight loss, the biggest factor, time and again, is total calories. . This cool study looked at insulin response from both bread and beef. Low and behold, the responses were almost identical. Hmmm, how can that be? Carbs make you fat. Carbs are worse for your insulin sensitivity. Now I'm confused!!! Ahhh! . Let's slow down for a second and consider that maybe carbohydrates are simply not as satiating and we eat more of them. That is easier to overeat carbs and not protein or fats. Totally forgot I had this video , was going to post a couple of days ago but I caught up with cleaning and decluttering stuff. Also from being sick 😷 . Feeling better but still not quite there. - On Friday, i was ready for squats. I wasnt expecting to hit a PR .. I was going to do chest and triceps that day but I was planning that for Saturday instead. Which we all know never happened 😩 anyway I was pumped..it was hot assss fawwwwwk but I was super pumped.. I managed to squat 275x2 . To me it felt alright like I wanted to go up in weight so 285lbs it was..
