Something a little different this morning, crossfit total. So 15 mins to find my 1rm for back squat, shoulder press & deadlift. . My results: Back squat 77.5kg Shoulder press 22. 5kg Deadlift 77.5kg, (yotally smashed my 70kg from last month) 😁💪. . One of the hardest muscles to "feel" is the back. One of the biggest reasons for this is due to the fact that you cant see your back while working it like your other muscle groups...making it much harder to "activate" it or in other words, create that mind-muscle connection. . Next time you train your back, try this to help create a better connection. Get yourself set up on the lat pulldown machine. Now...instead of pulling the bar to your chest, focus on pulling yourself UP. Make sure you use enough weight to allow this move. . Give this a try and let me know what you thought. If done correctly, you'll definitely "feel" your lats. A couple other good exercises to do to help build a better connection are scapular Shrugs & scapula pushups. Happy Tuesday! Here I am, April 2015 and today. Same person making much different health choices. April 2015 me was very proud of myself for being smoke-free for almost 1 year - Yea ( that’s always worth celebrating 🥳!). April 2015 me was also feeling uncomfortable in my skin. I was feeling bloated and heavy. I felt dismay when I looked in the mirror. My clothes were incredibly snug. I remember buying this shirt and kind of shrugging because it wasn’t flattering in the slightest, but I liked the design. April 2015 me did a lot of walking (easily 10k a day) but ate and ate and ate, particularly fast food and sugar. Oh my goodness, the sugar. Today me! Man, I feel LIGHT! I feel great in my skin! I am always tickled by how my clothes feel on my body! Honestly, I am usually a bit surprised when I see myself in the mirror, because I am expecting to see April 2015 me. What’s different between April 2015 me and today me? Today me is the leader of my health journey! Today me makes conscious, healthy choices throughout the day with the food I consume and the movement of my body. Every day I am making positive healthy choices. Every day. Did today me happen overnight? Nope! Is today me the product of a pill, potion, or patch? Nope! Is today me due to eliminating whole food groups from my diet? Nope!
