Got my steps and my workout out in today did the 1.4 trek to my local @planetfitness. I did a cycling between walking, sprinting, dancing and calisthenics. At the gym I did a quick 30 full body work out using the preweighted barbell and a bench. Finish off with some pull ups and caught an Uber home 😅 jk. . . . . . So, this is my 8 week transformation. I placed 5th at my show last Sunday and that’s about where I should have placed. I was still Daddy thiccy thicc 😒. With that being said I am going to push and try to place higher next time. I am very proud of myself and the hard work I put in in the 8 weeks ! This post is about my mind, which is the biggest difference between these photos. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸I remember closing my eyes as I stepped on the scale, terrified of what it would say. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔸I remember literally praying to God that I wouldn’t gain weight before going to sleep most nights. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If I could talk to my old self, ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ▪️I’d tell her that it’s okay to feel frustrated and it’s okay to want more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ▪️I’d tell her that she could find peace and create the EXACT body she saw in her mind. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ▪️But I’d also tell her to take responsibility for the body she had and to stop hating herself to skinny. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What is so powerful is that I feel like a new human. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m now at PEACE with my body.😌 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ YOU MUST go through the learning phase before you can do this, yes, but it’s so worth it. 💕🇳🇮 Thought it would be fitting to share today on #transformationtuesday this post about how proud I am of these ladies CRUSHING this Nutrition Challenge. When I started Mujeres Que Mueven almost 10 months ago I had no idea it could grow to be the size that it is today. With sometimes now as many as 6 organized group workouts a week, cooking and nutrition classes and nearly 30 women coming together to build strength, community and healthy habits. I am so glad that we decided to do this challenge. I have been overwhelmed by the response from the group members and their excitement in sharing recipes, exercising at home in order to earn more points and cheering each other on as they go. They are creating a tidal wave of positive influence on this tiny village and it is truly beautiful to watch. So in awe of their strength, persistence and their willingness to learn and get out of their comfort zone. ⁣ ⁣💕🇳🇮 We have been so blessed thus far in support in terms of donations of equipment and funds but we have big plans to grow the program in terms of both group members and equipment, build our own gym and replicate this project and bring it along to help other communities inspire their own healthy revolution. 💕🇳🇮 Here in Nicaragua where 4 of the top 6 causes of adult deaths are in part related to diseases of malnutrition a program like this can literally save lives. Please consider helping us with our goal to spread awareness and inspiration about health and movement. In order to lower it you have to approach it with the correct nutrition and exercise program, and what is the correct nutrition? The one you can sustain the longest without having a miserable journey! I’m a firm believer in flexible dieting and avoiding restrictive diets! Everything in moderation can be welcomed in a program. 2️⃣How many times a week you should train abs? Your abs are just another muscle group in your body! You don’t do legs every day so why are you looking to train abs every day? Training frequency has to be strictly related to the intensity of your workouts and your recovery after them. 2 times a week is more than enough if you are approaching it correctly. 3️⃣How many sets or reps should you do? This depends on your main goal of how you wanna look and how you wanna perform, as any other muscle if you put it under lots of stress and tension through resistance (adding weight to your moves) you will be pushing hypertrophy in the region and many of you don’t want a blocky core. Here are my #fitbit stats for the past week. ⠀ ⠀ I had a great week last week, even though a few numbers are down because I was traveling over the weekend. I hit my #stepsgoal and activity goal every day (even the travel days).⠀ ⠀ After that insane week of activity, I came back down to earth (but still had over 500 minutes). I didn't hit my exercise goal, but that was because of the out of state travel to attend a wedding.⠀ ⠀ My sleep was 🗑️🗑️ but hopefully it will be better with no trips scheduled for this week.⠀ ⠀ I won 3 #workweekhustle challenges but came in 2nd in another kind of challenge. ⠀ ⠀ I am back to being consistent with my stretching and #foamrolling but had to push back the mobility stuff because we needed to reconfigure the livingroom a little. IIFYM If It Fits Your Macros The diet style IIFYM is claiming that you can eat whatever you want as long as it's within your daily calories. Therefore, if 2000 calories is your daily limit you can eat: 2 Mars bars 2 Big Macs 2 Scoops ice cream 2 Slices of Pizza And STILL have 14 calories to spare! The question is.. How good is this for your overall health? Yes you can lose weight as long as your in a calorie deficit. But is it better then eating "clean calories" ? What's your opinion? Yes, there will be no sayers when you are reaching out of your comfort zone and doing something new. These can be the closest people to you.. I have experience myself with this. But that is not saying they want anything bad for you. Jen Sincero could not say it any better, “Watching someone else totally go for it can be incredibly upsetting to the person whose spend a lifetime building a solid case for why they themselves can’t.” It is now a few months into this new year and lots have people have thrown away their goals/dreams they wanted to accomplish this year. This is because you started doubting yourself. Why did I think I could stay focused? Do these supplements actually do something for me? Maybe this is stupid I thought I could actually fit this in my schedule. Why did I actually think I would go through with it? Don’t let anyone keep you from the goals you want to complete in life. Not even yourself! Two years ago I found this girl (Dixie) that has backpacked now the AT, PCT, and CDT. If you don’t know what these are they are trails that stretch proximately 2000 miles each across the US. I’ve watched her whole YouTube channel ( @homemadewanderlust ) but the video that has really stuck with me is Cross The Line. PLEASE watch this video! Been finding this prep pretty difficult, feeling tired and a little frustrated.
