👉🏼 Rice & Arsenic❗️⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ White rice has been a staple in many kitchens such as the Asian and Indian for thousands of years.⁣⁣ It's one of the most hypoallergen (best digestible/tolerable) carb sources there are.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ And while many people claim its inferior to brown or whole grain rice, which it is not as these types cause contain phytates ("anti-nutrients") and lectins which prevent minerals from absorption and cause digestive problems, the other keyword that's often associated with rice is arsenic.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Arsenic is a naturally occuring mineral, of which the inorganic form is considered to be more toxic than the organic form.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ In 2014 Consumer Reports tested 656 rice-containing products. They found arsenic in all types of rice, but the highest amounts in rice cereal and rice pasta.⁣⁣ Interestingly, brown rice also contained 50-80% more arsenic than white rice.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ They found the lowest amounts of arsenic in basmati rice from California, India and Pakistan and the highest amounts in products from Texas and other parts of the US!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Pregnant women and children have most reason for concern and are therefore advised to limit or carefully watch their rice consumption.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ An easy way to reduce the arsenic content is to wash your rice before you cook it. Through this process you can get rid of 30% of the arsenic!⁣⁣ If you want to remove even more, up to 40-60% then cook the rice in excess water and drain it when done!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 👇🏼Continued in comments below👇🏼

Vi starete chiedendo: perché porci davanti a obiettivi "più semplici"? NEW BIKE 😍 . Introducing my new Liv Avow TT bike 🚴‍♀️ . 3 years ago my boyfriend bought me my first proper bike, a Merida Ride road bike, and up until now it's been ideal for commuting, riding and racing. But heading to the Duathlon world champs, I wanted to step up my game and invest in a TT bike...and what a beautiful bike it is! (Thank you @mollieroutledge !) SIDE TO SIDE BEAR HOPS- this is a good exercise that targets the entire body but you will feel it most in your legs and abs. It’s works your arms because you have to hold yourself up in plank position. It works your abs and core strength since you relying on that for stability and balance. Your legs and glutes are worked because you need to hop back and forth and it really elevated your heart rate for a kick ass work out.
