🏋🏾‍♀️ Leg Day 🏋🏾‍♀️ . . One of my fave exercises to do are deadlifts. In the vid, I’m lifting 135lbs .The most I’ve ever Deadlift was 155lbs, which means I can lift myself and a little extra. Just appreciating how far I’ve come along in my journey. My goal is to soon be able to easily lift 200lbs. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 Till then I’ll be working. . . Side note. Fun Facts! What am I doing Cardio or Weight lifting!?.........I’m lifting!🏋🏼‍♂️There is a common misconception that cardio is the way to lose weight and that weight lifting doesn’t work your cardiovascular system. Both are incorrect. And while cardio has its place in certain training instances and is technically good for you, It is not the answer to losing weight/fat or cardiovascular health. Lifting weights not not only burns more calories and for a longer period of time it also builds healthy muscles And mobility that allows to do the fun things in life without being injured. Cardio will not. As pictured, I was doing deadlifts when I took the picture of my watch, had my heart pumping at on my 2nd set at 225lbs X 8reps it jumped all the way up to 160 when I lifted 245lbs X 8 reps!! My cardiovascular system was being worked just as hard as an elliptical, treadmill or bike at steady pace and I’m getting stronger! Win win! Lifting can also help correct imbalances in the body that may be cause pain. For example I had three bulging disks from a accident on the Oregon dunes. Because i was so out of shape and had hardly any neck muscles after healing my disk would continue to slip and cause horrible pain. By doing neck pulls and other various Moves I have not had a disc slip in 5 years. So if you have pains possibly due to lack of muscle, have hit a plateau during weight loss or want faster better results and all your doing is cardio it’s time to start lifting! Also if you’re just starting out or wondering the best options to start with it’s going to be weights or even just body weight movements as simple as lunges in the beginning! Hope this helps people out there and if you any questions don’t hesitate to ask!

Are you barely sleeping? Or sleeping like a baby? . If you’re trying to lose weight...you know that matters, right? . Sleep is our body’s natural restorative process. But somehow in this day and age...we are getting less and less of it. . One of the first questions I ask on a consult is “tell me about your sleep”...and most are surprised to know that as a coach, I put a huge emphasis in making sure my clients are getting enough. . Sleep is the brain’s nutrition. Skimp on it and you’re setting yourself up not just to be tired and cranky, but to make poorer nutrition decisions (impulse candy bar anyone?), hold on to more water and skip a workout due to lethargy. . 7-9 hours is recommended, and I won’t even get into the QUALITY of your sleep here bc well...I only have so much space. . BUT. If you’re exercising, trying to eat right but you struggle in the sleep department, go to bed little earlier and see how your body responds. . I bet it thanks you.

Day 18... #50burpeesfor30dayschallenge . We can all come up with tons of reasons to skip exercise and they all seem terribly critical. We're too busy, we're tired, we really need to clean out the car and that corner behind the fridge isn't just going to dust itself, is it? . Having said that, please Don't exercise if your signs and symptoms are below the neck, such as chest congestion, a hacking cough or upset stomach . Don't exercise if you have a fever, fatigue or widespread muscle aches. Let your body be your guide. If you feel miserable, take a break. A few days off from exercise when you're sick shouldn't affect your performance. Resume your normal workout routine gradually as you begin to feel better. . And don't workout with a full tummy. Exercising on a full stomach can make you feel just plain sick. Eating a large amount of food before exercising can cause stomach pain and cramps. It may even lead to nausea and diarrhea . If you eat a large meal, wait at least three hours before exercising. A small meal should be followed by a wait period of two to three hours. Whenever you break free of trying to be “normal”, other “normal” people will do their damnedest to make you feel like shit! One of the worst things we can do in life is to listen to people who aren’t even trying to do what we are attempting to do. Think about it- how many people are sitting back on their couches armchair-quarterbacking the lives of others? We have people who can’t even run a mile critiquing a young man who wants to become an Army Ranger. We have people who can’t throw a football 10 yards talking shit about the play of an NFL QB. We have people who barely graduated high school discouraging a young student from applying to an Ivy League. The examples are endless. There is a pattern here. Most of the people giving the advice, doing the judging and criticizing, etc., are people who have failed to even attempt greatness. It is so easy nowadays for people to publicly judge others thanks to technology and the many platforms at their fingertips. A lot of these underachievers can easily hide and talk their shit. This outlet makes them feel better about themselves. You can’t allow these cowards to prevent you from excelling in life or at least attempting to do so! If the people around you aren’t pushing you to exhaust your physical and mental limits, do not allow these people in your life! They will do everything in their power to bring you down as you make them feel insecure because they aren’t willing to give the effort that you are everyday of your life.

▫️▫️▫️ Rugby League. ▫️▫️▫️ A game I have loved since I can remember and I’ve recently come back to it as a playing coach and have absolutely loved every second of it. ▫️▫️▫️ Our club has had one of the toughest weeks I have ever been involved with and I have had a rough time dealing with it personally. I’ve been pretty good at times at putting on that clown face to get through shit times, this time I can’t , I don’t have it in me and I am trying to be a leader for my Rugby League club. I’ve figured out that I don’t have to be that person all the time, there are people around me that can help ME get through. The reason I know this is that I have spoken of the pain I’m in right now and those people have jumped all over me to let me know I can talk to them and it’s helped me so much.. ▫️▫️▫️ I can’t see the end of it yet but I know that by talking about it it’s helping more than it’s not. ▫️▫️▫️ They say the timing of things isn’t an accident, our football club is donating a day this season to an organisation called @livinorg and their mantra is #itaintweaktospeak I don’t care if you do think it’s weak, it fucking helps and I’m proof of it. If you’re hurting for ANY reason, please seek help. I’m itching to play tomorrow which is our final trial before the competition starts in two weeks. I’m remembering why I love football so much, the TEAM! I love being a part of a team.

🌞AM VS. PM🌚 . Each have their own benefits. Morning: working out in the morning allows you to ‘seize’ the day. You can get your workout out of the way, allowing you to focus your energy on other accomplishments for the remainder of the day. I sometimes like to do fasted HIIT (high intensity internal training) cardio in the morning - which is great to target burning fat. If you feel that you don’t have the appropriate energy, I’d recommend having a light snack (ex. Banana) and a coffee or preworkout! Caffeine stimulates energy, focus, and thermogenesis, so you’ll be good to burn some calories 💪🏼. Note: cardio can always be followed by weights to get the metabolism going. - Evening: great for any type of exercise. Again, caffeine will help you get the energy/motivation you need, in case you’re feeling tired by the end of the day. Note: try to avoid excessive amounts of caffeine after 5-6 pm, especially if you’re caffeine sensitive, to avoid a restless night! Regardless of AM or PM, goal is to get a workout in. Remember to hit each muscle group at least once a week! 💪🏼 - 👇🏼Now, what’s your preference?👇🏼
