Yesterday's lifting session went well. I haven't been feeling that energetic lately and haven't been getting enough sleep so that kinda dampens performance but it was still a good session . My workout: ➡️Military press 4*8. When we talk about fat loss and improving body composition you usually associate this with a calorie deficit, cardio, restriction and so on, But very rarely do you consider improving strength. Having worked with hundreds of women over the years, improving a clients strength has shown to be hugely beneficial to the goal of fat loss and body composition. But of course, this needs to be placed in the right way at the right time for the individuals needed, ability and ability to train effectively. I would highly recommend trying to improve strength over time, Pick a lift/ exercise that is early on in your training session. This is usually a compound movement that you can increase the weight to. Work in a 6-8 rep range and slowly week by week try and add small amounts of weight to the bar while staying in the prescribed rep range and of course keeping a safe and efficient level of execution. You will work harder, become more efficient in the gym and take your progress to the next level. LOOK GREAT FROM BEHIND WITH THIS MOVE - The single-leg deadlift is a simple yet effective body weight exercise that will strengthen and tone your butt muscles, while improving balance. - You can perform this with resistance bands, a kettlebell or dumbbells. - Adding a row will help sculpt and beautiful back. - Do 3 sets with a rep range of 12 reps per side. - TIPS TO REMEMBER: 1. Keep your core engaged throughout the whole movement 2. Stand straight with both feet on ground and legs straight 3. Grab band with neutral grip 4. Put your weight into the supporting leg as hinge forward with your upper body and lift the your non-supporting leg so it’s parallel to the floor 5. Keep the support (balancing) leg straight or allow a slight, gentle bend to your knee 6. Keep shoulders 7. Keep back and neck in alignment 8. Push through your supporting leg/glutes to move your body upright 9. Squeeze your glutes at the top of the movement while doing a row 10. Keep elbows close to your sides 11. We all have our times when we believe we aren’t good enough, when we feel the whole world is against us and you just don’t want to do anything but sleep so not to feel anything. it’s normal, we are only human after all. I have only recently pulled myself out of this hole, where I felt hiding from the world and feeling worthless was all I had. I pulled away from those close to me, believing I was saving them from myself and my bad energy. it took me a while, but eventually I switched my mentality and I’m back 🙋‍♀️ in saying this I don’t apologise for who I was trying that time, I won’t apologise for being me or for doing what I felt was the right thing at that time. It’s made me stronger and now I’m ready to smash goals and improve in all aspects of my life. Special shoutout to those that stuck around during the dark times, you know who you are. Sometimes, when families do not need me to care for their babies’, they need me to housesit/pet sit, which allows a little bit of freedom to incorporate a workout given the space is provided 😉 Since I had some privacy today, I decided to film my upper body, light weight/high rep/until failure workout. Instead of condensing it all into a one minute clip, I decided to show all of my sets which you can properly view swiping right ➡️ ➡️ ➡️ Usually for lightweight/high rep workouts I’ll go for 5 sets/15-20x/until failure. For example, pull-ups, until failure for me is about 3-4. WANT TO TORCH SOME CALORIES WHILE BUILDING GORGEOUS LEGS - Switch jump lunges are a plyometric exercise, which means that you're training your muscles to be explosive. - To do that you have to make an effort to jump into the air quickly and with as much power as possible. - This body weight move will sculpt and strengthen your lower, giving you beautifully toned legs and glutes. - It targets your core, quads, hamstrings, calves, and glutes. - Do 3 sets with a rep range of 12 reps per side. One rep is a switch jump lunge and a 2 count pulse lunge. - TIPS TO REMEMBER: 1. Keep your core engaged throughout the whole movement 2. Lunge forward, ensuring your knee does not travel passed your toes, and lower your body 3. Working leg should be at 90 degrees 4. Use your working leg to push off the floor into a jump. 5. While in the air, switch the position of your feet, placing the forward leg behind you and the formerly rear leg in front of you 6. Land gently in the balls if your feet 7.
