Silk is not the best choice of fabrics when you’re a mom, but it’s one of my favourites for obvious reasons. I hadn’t worn this top in awhile, but I also haven’t been able to let it go every time I edited my closet, so here it is! This was to my gf’s bridal shower when Lennox wasn’t with me! 🙌🏼🙃 —————
I’ve had such a love hate relationship with fashion blogging for awhile now for a few reasons. One of them because I don’t want to promote consumerism and especially of things that I don’t believe in. Since my studies in fashion a few years ago, it has educated me in so many ways- one of these was making me more of a conscious consumer. So much to say on sustainability and fashion, but right now let’s just say that after the oil industry, the fashion industry is the second highest polluter of the world. For more facts like these, check out @heyarchive.
Since the beginning of the year I’ve been reminded a few times already that sustainability doesn’t just mean start by going out and only purchasing sustainable/eco and/or quality products and disposing of your old ones, but to use what you’ve already got and consume less overall.
So on this note, starting this year I’ve really been trying to wear all that I already have and whatever I come across that no longer brings me joy (ty @mariekondo ) I’ll recycle it one way or the other. ♻️🌎💚💙🙂 #reducereuserecycle #sustainablefashion
