Ancestral Malediction - Demoniac Holocaust 2002 Pure fucking hellfire and chaos. Unholy obliteration. Most improtantly, the infernal spirit guiding the madness like soldiers preparing for ritual genocide. All manifested into one album. You won't find much information about this album online. I tried. Other than some catalogue websites, this album doesn't have much information. However you don't need it, words wouldn't do this album justice. "Why are you doing a review then?" Because a can you bloody cunts. As I delve deeper into some Brazilian classics I stumbled upon this album, and from the album work I expected some death-thrash in the vein of Expulser. Oh no, this is something much more special. The album wastes 0 fucking time punishing you with outrageously constant blastheats and odd fucking technicality. These drums are so fucking sporadic and chaotic it's so hard to keep up. Imagine when you're a child and you're parents say "Here comes the plane!" And you open your mouth thinking a plane is landing in your mouth, just to realize you were bamboozled into eating some shit tier pasty carrots \ greenbeans from a jar. That's how this album was for me bjt rather than being shitty, it was just so much different from the minimal \ barbarity of usual Brazil acts. I wish I had words for the drums, they fucking steal this album. They'll tease you with a simply blast beat for a few seconds before just ripping you apart with unnessesarily technical, proggy, bordeeline jazz fusion drums. The riffs are dark, the riffs are heavy and the riffs are good. But fuck these drums are so goddamn great you wouldn't even need guitars. Vocals are nasty and gritty, swapping between demonic raspy shrieks and abyss dwelling growls. It's such a bizarre experience to have heard this album. One my second listen in a row right now and I'm still trying to figure out how the fuck this album can be so outlandish and unorganized, yet still feel disciplined and free of ego.
