Just made these 🍎Baked Apple Cider Donuts🍩 for my son to take to school for Johnny Appleseed Day. Since he has an egg allergy, I replaced each egg with 2 Tbsp avocado oil, 1 Tbsp water and 1/2 tsp baking powder. This recipe was a little more involved than I prefer when baking, but it’s worth it for my 1st grader to be able to eat a donut with the rest of the class! For all those that are new here, I wanted to share my story of how I was introduced to the fruit & vegetable nutritional support products that Jack and I take. Jack was never great at eating vegetables, fruit no problem, but vegetables were always a struggle. He also had a tendency to become frustrated easily and not have a good control over his emotions. I had often wondered if the two were connected or if he was 'just a boy' or was just in 'the terrible twos'. I came across the fruit & vegetable chews and I loved the idea of them straight away. Natural, wholefoods, not classified as confectionery (the only ones on the market) and a great way to bridge the gap between what we do eat and what we should eat. It is like a back up plan for the days when you don't get your 9+ fruits & vegetables. I struggle to eat this variety everyday and getting Jack to eat that many was certainly a challenge. I never finish a burger when I’m out at a restaurant, but this one I sure did! I ended up ordering this burger with no bun. At first trying to eat it seemed like a challenge, but then using the lettuce as a bun I was able to eat it and ended up enjoying it more than most burgers I’ve had with a bun! Eating healthy doesn’t taste good. Eating healthy is too expensive. I don’t want to eat rabbit food. I can’t get rid of my cravings. . I’m calling those excuses out right now! And I’m talking to my former self, because I’ve definitely said each of those! . I had a looooong day at work and haven’t meal prepped since I’ve been feeling so lousy, so I drove through Panera and got my FAVE salad (southwest chili lime chicken if you’re curious). It’s is bursting with flavor and leaves me feeling satisfied with zero guilt! AND because restaurant portion sizes are ridiculous, I got home, split the salad in two, added a little more lettuce and BAM! Lunch for tomorrow too! (Peep my stories for the explanation! 😉) . $6 dinner. Full of flavor. So much satisfaction. . You’ll get these hacks and more in my accountability group. A small clippit of some of the exercises I incorporated in my leg workout yesterday. 🏋️🏋️ _________________________________________ 1) Single Leg Deadlifts w/10kg Kettlebell: The gluteus muscles, hamstrings and abductors work together for this one. Also, challenges your core. 2) Machine Squat: Another great variation of your squat. 3) Reverse Lunges with barbell (Works your quads more) 4) Front Squat: These are great if you have a tendency to lean forward while back squatting.
