There is no such thing as perfect. And I’m glad. All we can do is try to be better each day. On the left I was 6 weeks #postpartum and feeling uncoordinated in my body because it had been 10+ months since I was actually myself. Creating a human and delivering them into the world makes a difference in your body, but don’t let them tell you “you’ll never be the same”. I think we hear that so much, so we believe it and project it as the story we tell ourselves, it’s a self fulfilling prophesy. (I also don’t think we should tell ourselves we need to be perfect and back to our old selves right after birth either!) Either way, give yourself grace and trust the process, take steps each day, as my favorite mentor says “put a pebble in your pile everyday and eventually you’ll have moved a mountain” ☺️ So who’s ready to move a mountain 1 pebble at a time with me and my private group of badass women who want nothing more than to love themselves and get better each day?? MESSY MIXED BERRY BARS🍓 Yet again, I tried to make ALMOND BUTTER!!! I give up now 😂 I’m starting to think every time I want a new recipe I should just try to make almond butter and see what happens. Maybe next time it’ll come out as brownies ... who knows?🙈 . . But seriously guys, these were A M A Z I N G🤩 They have an almond crust with a mixed berry filling and a dark chocolate layer on top🤤 They’re soooo good and perfect for a sweet snack or dessert🍬 I honestly can’t stop eating them🤫 . . Recipe #dEATS ↓ ☞ In a food processor, blend 2 cups of roasted almonds (soaked overnight in water), one pitted date, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, 2 tablespoons of homemade oat milk ( @elliesbest ), and 2 tablespoons of coconut oil until the mixture can stick together . ☞ Press the mixture into an 8 x 8“ pan and place in the freezer. ☞ in a microwave, heat one mashed banana, and half a cup of any jam you want for 20 seconds. (I used 1/4 cup of my homemade blueberry jam recipe and 1/4 cup of my homemade raspberry jam.) ☞ spread that mixture on top of the base mixture and place back in the freezer. ☞ In a microwave heat 1 cup of dark chocolate chips, 1/2 tablespoon of oil, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla until melted. ☞ when the berry mixture is set, pour the chocolate on top and put back into the freezer until chocolate is set. ☞ Cut into squares and enjoy!😋

Did you ever think that there would be a point in your life where you say “Doh!” because you ate your food before snapping a photo of it? 😂. Well, I was hungry after my second in-office PT sesh today and I didn’t even think about snapping a photo before I devoured it. But while I was eating it, I was thinking about giving an update on my Keto eating, especially since my surgery one week ago today. Have I stopped keto? Nope! Have I just decided to start eating junk and not pay attention to my diet since my surgery. Absolutely not. Have I adhered to the strict 50g of carbs a day that is prescribed to get/keep your body in ketosis? That’s also a no and here’s why—my knee isn’t the only part of me in recovery, it’s my entire body (and mind)! It is even more pertinent right now while in recovery that I pay attention to my diet. (And I don’t mean “diet” but that’s another post for another day.) So I have been following keto but under the 21 day reset plan which allows for 100-150g of carbs a day. I wanted to do this because I want to gradually move to the 50g of carbs a day and right before my surgery is when I would have transitioned to a stricter level and it just wasn’t the right time for that. So, I’ve just continued on what I had already been doing the last 21 days. I feel good and my recovery is going well so I think that was the right choice. I was lucky enough to have my person here for several days after my surgery who understands my nutrition needs and perfectly prepared healthy meals for us. ❤️ My snack today was one of my favorites! It was a 1/2c plain whole fat chobani greek yogurt, raspberries, cacao nibs, unsweetened coconut flakes, cinnamon and some almond butter. Delicious power snack that boosts my energy! I know I’ve said that dairy doesn’t agree with me but the whole fat greek yogurt and I don’t have any issues for some reason! Woot woot!!
