2019 Season Predictions:
vs Washington Redskins (1:00)
The Eagles will kick off the 2019 season against their division rival Washington Redskins at Lincoln Financial Field. I’m sure that this won’t be the most well played game as it is the first game of the season and the players will still be getting used to playing together, but the Eagles should be well prepared and it helps that they will be at the Linc. Carson Wentz tends to play pretty well against the Redskins as he has a career 3-2 record against them with both losses coming in his rookie season in games decided by a touchdown or less. The Eagles are pretty much better at almost every position than the Redskins, but the Redskins do have some game changing players such as Landon Collins, Ryan Kerrigan, and Adrian Peterson. The Eagles defensive line should be able to get pressure on the QB whether that be Case Keenum or Dwayne Haskins and they should be able to get a few sacks. The Redskins don’t have any real threat at the WR position so I think that the Eagles secondary should be able to have a good day which will force the Redskins to use their run game. The Redskins have a few good running backs, but they can’t run the ball all game and expect it to work. The Eagles defense should have the clear advantage over the Redskins offense. The Redskins have a solid defense, but I think that the Eagles wide receivers and tight ends will be too much for them. If the receiving game starts to struggle then the Eagles run game should also play well as Jordan Howard, Miles Sanders, and Corey Clement can wear out this defense. The Eagles are the overall better team and should really have no problem winning this game and starting the season with a 1-0 record. Divisional games are always tough though ... so we’ll see how it turns out.
