Repost from @warrenzinger - A little over 3 years ago, I started getting frustrated when someone would tell me "they say ____". I soon realized that I don’t care what THEY SAY. I also realized that the advice I had for others was always the advice I need for myself. Taa-daaaa! Can you see the flaw in these strategies? Like many others, I was obsessively pursuing inner peace and happiness; searching in every corner, book, seminar and guru, seeing no substantial change in myself. If reading a book or going to a seminar was the answer, the world would be in a much better place. So I made a choice, the choice to find out WHAT DO I KNOW? WHAT IS MY TRUTH? NO MORE READING, NO MORE SEMINARS, NO MORE GURUS. If it is outside of me, it’s no more. I made a decision to stop searching and start BEING. BEING present with this moment. BEING aware of my emotions. BEING accepting of my reality. The guru that changed my life was me. People ask me for a book that changed my life. There are none. Selfish? No, It’s selfish to think that someone else has any power over me and my life. Be your own guru. Save your money, save a tree, spend your reading time asking yourself, “What do I feel right now?” Where do I feel it? That is presence, that is awareness, that is your true power and that is sexy. Now, go be sexy! Seriously, RIGHT NOW - What do you feel and where do you feel it?
