MY FIRST EVER 5K APRIL 18 . It is always encouraging to find out you are doing better than you think you are 😅. I started using the Nike Run Club app to track my runs. After tracking 8 runs I realized I have a few achievements. I'm appreciative of small things like this especially less than a year ago I thought I couldn't run because of my asthma and allergies. I'm enjoying pushing myself beyond my mental limitations. Less then a week till I go to lanzorote 🤪☀️🙏💛 - - Tips to make sure I’ll stay on track while away on prep ... - - 1. First priority was the hotel gym so my training and cardio can carry on as usual 2. Keep active, hit my daily step count with lots of walking and exploring 3. I made sure there was a supermarket close by so i can cook in the apartment and take my food scales 4. Take foods that I can, for example my oats, whey, PB, so they are consistent, (I was thinking yogurt too but strong chance it will explode ✈️🤭✈️) 5. Stay hydrated, drink more water than usual , I normally drink 4 litres but due to the heat that could increase 6. Pre warn your friend this is more like a fitness retreat 🤫🏃‍♀️🏋️‍♀️🏊‍♀️😝 - - It will throw me out of routine but it will be nice to be able to just focus on prep, with no work or distractions in between, annnnnd I’ll get a nice pre tan for before my show ✌️

I have felt this my entire life. I have had countless people tell me I’m too much of something and it’s just got more and more in the past few years. Too committed to work, too strong or big because of the gym, too busy, too focused, too committed, too intense, too forgiving, too trusting, too unemotional, too much. But one day I know I will find that person and I will be enough, I will be enough of everything and they will love and cherish me for everything that I am and everything that I offer to them and the relationship. Super proud of myself! Training on holidays We all get to that point eventually when it becomes hard to train away from our regular routine. We've seen the countless home workout options available. Personally I will do whatever it takes to find a good gym and do a full body session even if it's just for one of the days away. It would be nice if gyms charged a bit less for a one off session though. If you ever feel uncomfortable trying exercises or machines in your own home gym I encourage you to be brave and try new things while you're away. It's much easier to get over the awkwardness this way.😊🤣 Train hard my friends. Have an awesome week ♥️

Really enjoying Comp prep with 5 weeks to go before I step foot for my first time ever on stage @icnqld Sunshine Coast Classics. Going into this prep with an open mind has allowed me to experience things I never would have done without having set this goal. Six months between the two pic’s but in actual fact only about 4 months of solid training due to personal commitments, illness holidays etc . This comp prep has been a little different to the last and in some ways a lot harder but that’s what makes it all the more exciting. The next 7 weeks will challenge me however I always seem to work best under pressure and thrive on achieving my goals . I have built enough muscle now and am a lot thicker . I’ve shed 8 kilos in 6 weeks and have 7 weeks to go . My diet has been altered slightly and my cardio increased . It is now time for me to get the leanest I have ever been in my life . This is not an easy thing for me to do by any means as I have always been bottom heavy all my life and genetically was never blessed with lean legs or glutes. But I am in the best possible shape of my life and that alone is a blessing . I finally made it to 5!! This was my 4th attempt at the end of an upper body day and I almost wasn't going to try again and could feel that it was my mind that got me through that last bit on the final rep where I'd usually get stuck!! Felt awesome. I'm loving getting stronger... there's something even more fulfilling about it than there is about seeing the muscles grow. Just. And I'm still pb-ing on my upper body compounds each week. Okay so now I'm aiming for 6 reps!! I've got a feeling that this next rep might be easier to reach than the last..

Common nutritional mistakes One of the issues that we see from a lot of people who utilise a flexible dieting approach is things can get missed sometimes, especially when you use a variety of food sources and switch things up regularly. Even for those who are experienced with tracking nutrition. Sometimes little things that may not seem like much at the time can accumulate to make a huge difference over time. An extra few spreads of butter on your toast, an extra spoonful of peanut butter, sugar in your coffee that wasn’t counted etc things like these can be missed easily or forgotten about because they don’t take up much volume and are so low in quantity. Especially for those who are deep into a dieting phase and have a bad memory or some people that just choose to “forget” about it. Just as businesses run regular audits to ensure internal procedures are running smoothly and targets are being met, you should do the same with your nutrition to make sure everything is tracked correctly with accurate information. 🌟TECHNIQUE TUESDAY🌟 . Underhand Barbell Row. . I currently hit these on one of my pull days as they are great for hitting back AND biceps (thanks to the underhand grip making your biceps pull the weight too.) . 1️⃣Don’t go too heavy and let your hips drive the weight. Your upper back should be doing the work! 2️⃣Feet hip width apart, palms under the bar and take a nice solid grip. 3️⃣Retract your shoulder blades to straighten your upper back. With that back straight, row the bar up into your midsection in a slow, controlled way. 4️⃣the bar should be tracing a straight line up and down, so make sure your bum is pushed back, knees out of the way to make room for that linear bar path. . If you’re struggling to maintain form and let your upper back muscles pull the weight, it’s too heavy! You can see my first few reps I was driving the weight a little with my lower body, but I managed to slow down and control that bar, remembering which muscles I was meant to be working!! If you can’t regain control like this- drop the ego and that weight- Happy safe rowing !!☺️
