This photo was taken on Father’s Day just 2 days before we were scammed out of $1000 from our account. (In just a couple of seconds it was gone before you could say “What, how?”) I thought “wow how many hours of work did we just lose?” Yes, I’m smiling here...but just 2 days before I was on the phone for 6 hours trying to recover what we lost - crying in tears with customer service reps from my bank.
The day after that horrible event happened, I made a choice. I chose to get up, dust myself off, put on some fake lashes (because falsies have a way of making you feel empowered, am I right ladies? 💋), and I chose to get back what I lost by choosing to be grateful and making the most of what I have in front of me.
Often times we associate our worth or purpose with what we do, how much money we have in our accounts, or the need for other people’s opinions of us. Our purpose isn’t tied to our title, vocation, or work or even other’s perceptions of what success should be; work is what we DO, our PURPOSE is to love and serve.
We are joyful in this photo because I made the conscious decision to not reside in the helplessness and despair I experienced on Friday, because I knew that my choices would only spill over to the closest ones to me - my family. We are joyful because we simply chose to be. It only takes a mustard-seed mindset that no matter what, God’s got you and that everything will turn out just fine.
Make the choice to choose joy. 🥰😁
