Vegan Collection 🐥 LINK IN BIO @ALESSIAMOONART From the day they hatch, female chicks are kept in horrific conditions and are exploited for the secretions their bodies produce until they’re beyond worn out and exhausted. Did you know that an egg is the equivalent of a menstrual cycle for birds and that in nature they cannibalise unfertilised eggs to regain the nutrients lost to produce them? Egg laying hens are killed at 12-18 months, when their egg production declines (average lifespan 12-15 years). They are slaughtered, gassed or thrown live into "dead piles". Hens lay 250 to 300 eggs a year, this is due to genetic manipulation since they naturally lay 10 to 15 eggs a year. This unnatural amount of egg laying causes disease and painful death. The hens are debeaked at birth. This is a very painful process and their beaks are more sensitive than a human finger, many birds die from shock. This is due to overcrowding to avoid the hens from pecking at eachother. It’s sad. These animals are innocent and have done absolutely nothing other than exist to be treated this way. We can make a difference though, by speaking out, by learning about what happens to them and by no longer supporting these industries with our money. We hope this post has helped bring us closer to the abolition of animal exploitation. Thank you and have a lovely day.
