It’s about time I interrupt the countless nail pictures and put a face behind the work. And today is significant.
40 days from today, I TURN 40!
Getting into nail art was quite the journey as I didn’t even have a game plan on getting into it. I just went for it.
I graduated from @columbiachi with a degree in Marketing Communications back in ‘02. Worked corporate for almost 10 years, but always had an entrepreneurial bug. I attempted event planning in ‘10 before pursuing nails. I considered owning a nail studio and figured before owning a nail business, I should get my license, go to school and get some experience. That part was a formality because none of the true lessons in this came from nail school. I was also on unemployment when I kicked of my nail life. That was over 6 years ago. And I haven’t turned back.
Working for myself as an independent artist brings me full circle creatively. I’m cut from a creative fiber thanks to my artistic Dad and in high school I was an art major. But really, who could have thought I’d end up here! I just know the next decade is going to be ever evolving as I continue in this industry. #ThisIs40 #ChicagoNailArtist #TilDeathIDoArt 📷: @wanderwoman.photography
