In the spirit of previous collaborations with renowned artists such as Stephen Sprouse, Takashi Murakami, Richard Prince, Yayoi Kusama and Jeff Koons, Louis Vuitton has invited six contemporary artists – Sam Falls, Urs Fischer, Nicholas Hlobo, Alex Israel, Tschabalala Self and Jonas Wood – to reinterpret the design of its iconic Capucines bag. The one pictured here is Jonas Wood's bag - stunning!
And now for a quick history lesson... Introduced in 2013, Louis Vuitton’s Capucines bag is named after Rue des Neuves-Capucines, the Paris street where the Maison opened its first store in 1854. The bag quickly became a classic, with a distinctive design that offers an ideal blank canvas to inspire the leading international artists who have reworked it for the limited edition Artycapucines Collection.
