85% of people are on ADHD drugs and more than half of them are children. During the past 50 years, the amount of synthetic dye used in foods has increased by 500% Simultaneously, an alarming rise has occurred in behavioral problems in children, such as aggression, attention deficit disorder (ADD), and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The ingestion of food delivers the greatest foreign antigenic load that challenges the immune system. (Vojdani A, et al. 2015)
Artificial food dyes are made from petroleum. In 1970s the U.S banned some of these colors but not all. Some parents that even stated that when they took artificial colors out of their kids diet their behaviors improved by 50%. That is when the American National Institute of Health concluded that removing artificial dyes from the diet help some children with #ADHD. The molecules of synthetic colorants are small, and the immune system finds it difficult to defend the body against them. They can also bond to food or body proteins and, thus, are able to act in stealth mode (which @dr.jess.md talks about all the time,) to circumvent and disrupt the immune system.
Neurotherapeutic studies have concluded that coloring significantly increase #ADHD like symptoms, impulsive behavior, slowed cognition, loss of concentration in children that they have studied from ages 3 to 8.
Chromosomal damage have been linked to blue 1, red 3, Yellow 5 and 6. Brain tumors have been linked to Blue 2, bladder tumors have been linked to Citrus Red 2 which was also found on the Skin of oranges in Florida and green 3 also contributed to Bladder tumors.
The widely use food coloring that has not been banned is red 40 but it has also been connected to chromosomal damage, lymphomas, and #hyperactivity periods.Yellow 5 and 6 have been linked to asthma, hyperactivity, allergies, thyroid tumors and yellow 5 has been associated with violent Behavior, insomnia, and neurochemical effects.
