The "fake" eggs I made yesterday went over so well that I made a few more today for the other broody hens. I happened to go to the feed store today and saw the fake eggs that the stores sell. They are $2 each!
In case you missed yesterday's video, I cut the top of an egg off, emptied the contents, rinsed out the shell and filled it with plaster of paris. They look and feel like an egg and the broody girls can't tell them apart (heck, I can barely tell them apart). Golf balls weren't working well for us and I couldn't bring myself to spend $2 each at the store for realistic fakes so I got creative and made my own!
