Taal was such a musical masterpiece. Every song was a gem. 'Nahin samne' is probably my favourite. Love the lyrics! It sounds like it was written by Gulzar, but was actually written by Anand Bakshi. At one point of time, perhaps in the 70s or 80s, some intellectuals would criticise him by saying that he does only 'tukbandi'. Also, he wrote some songs which were not particularly appreciated by the classes (remember 'Choli ke Peeche'?). But, he always considered himself a lyricist first, not a poet, and he maintained throughout that he wrote whatever was demanded from him. 'Nahin samne' has the most romantic lyrics ever.. When your heart yearns for your loved one! So simple, yet it touches you in the right place. A testament to the lyrical capabilities of Anand Bakshi! .

Khafa hai magar bewafa toh nahi
Mere haath me hi tere haath hai
Mere haath me hi tera haath hai

Nahin samne ye alag baat hai
Nahin samne ye alag baat hai
Mere paas hai tu mere paas hai
Mere saath hai, mere saath hai

Tera naam maine liya hai yahan
Mujhe yaad tune kiya hai wahan
Bade zor ki aaj barsaat hai
Bade zor ki aaj barsaat hai
Mere paas hai tu mere paas hai
Mere saath hai, mere saath hai"
