Swipe to left: When I saw her,
I couldn't believe what I was seeing,
I've never seen a walking altar before,
But I was for sure that I was in the presence of a God.
The way her strength cascaded down the her spine,
Falling onto the placements of where I could see my hands softly gripping her,
Letting her know that it is ok to be in the hands of a protector.
That I'd protect her.
It was that one look
And she captured my heart
With how her Eyes were the color of warm honey,
Just maybe it was how I saw
In that one look,
How her ancestors danced around fire to keep a woman like her warm on her coldest days
And that fire I felt,
A fire I'd be log to if it meant I could keep her alive
Would allow me to burn into ashes if it meant I'd be sprinkled onto her altar
I wanted to feel what it felt like to worship
To worship her everyday,
Because with her I'd keep falling even if it meant tripping out of my skin to be wrapped around hers.
This woman I saw today,
Was a woman I'd give my life for in every lifetime.
In every lifetime I'd give my life for her #SelfWritten #AnOdeToSelf #Poetry #SpokenWordArtist #DMV #Baltimore #BlackArtist 🔮💕
