I just got off the phone with a success coaching client. She said, “ I killed my 6-pack punch workout and so felt amazing! However, the next day, my abs were so freakin sore!” Luckily, I have an answer for her. Of course with any new intense training there is going to be some soreness. We are asking our muscles to do a job they aren’t quite strong enough to handle yet, and the work breaks them down. The good news is, they rebuild stronger, and that’s how we make progress! Now, how do we make this happen more efficiently, so we don’t have that prolonged intense muscle soreness? It all comes down to your post-workout nutrition. You want to help your body start that recovery process immediately after your workout with fast-digesting protein and carbs. I could get super sciencie about it, but let’s just say this is the only time of day I recommend a supplement over a whole food source, and that’s simply because it does a better job in this case. I use 1stphorm Phormula-1 protein and ignition after ever time I do a weighted workout, because I want to be able to move when I wake up the next morning! 🤣 Ha , but seriously I want the best results for the work I’m putting in and that’s what works. Happy to chat through the sciencie part if you’re interested. 🤓 Fitwwhit @Gmail.com Who else noticed a difference when they started recovering with proper nutrition?
