Bend. If it was closer to BC we’d visit regularly. However its location at the foot of Deschutes National forest is what it makes it special. Its proximity to the lakes, rivers, trails, and Mountains or Deschutes make Bend the gateway to a massive outdoor playground. The town is littered with outdoors shops and parking spots are filled with Landcruisers, Tacomas,4Runners, Delicas, and Westfalias, many sporting racks, awnings, kayaks, or RTT’s. Our 4Runner was feeling very at home.
Of course along with the young culture that’s been drawn to the city comes a slew of cafes, breweries, and shops. A laid back atmosphere in each was met with a serious dedication to their craft, brew, or curation.
Below is a quick list of which places we set our very wet shoes in, and we only just focused on the downtown core
