Day 2 in Character Appreciation Week hosted by @jodimay15 👍🖋️📖 It's time to introduce the "Beast" character in my Beauty and the Beast retelling: The Udyret.
Prior to his curse, the Udyret was an introverted, quiet young man who loved books, particularly those about Norwegian folklore and mythology. His interest in these subjects certainly help him and Sigrid later on, but they are also partially a factor as to why he is in his current situation. He is uncertain how to act around Sigrid initially, as he has not had human interaction in years. Despite his quiet nature, there is a deep sincerity to what he says and does; he does not take part in things lightly.
Udyret appearance: A mash of many creatures. Has a tall but guant figure that is slightly hunch-backed due to his crooked spine. Fur covers much of his body, though his hands and face are leathery and have a troll-ish appearance. Two large antlers sprout from his forehead, the weight of them causing his head to bend forward.
Human appearance: You'll have to read the book to find that out 😉
Favorite season: The end of fall, just before it turns into winter.
Hobby: Reading. 📖❤️ Favorite book as a child was The Prose Edda. Unfortunately, the curse renders his mind in the Udyret form incapable of comprehending letters/words and therefore he cannot read as the Udyret.
Thanks for reading!! 💙🖋️
