The National Museum of Afghanistan, once considered to be one of the world's finest museums, was completely destroyed and looted on May of 1993 (during the Civil War).
Once home to over 100,000 relics that predated several millenia, the museum's artifacts were believed to be lost forever until relics began to resurface in 2003.
Since then, thousands of artifacts have been recovered and many repaired. 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐩𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐚 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫.
