Nothing too special here. Just some Smith Overhead Presses with a dead stop at the bottom. If @qrs.fit wasn't like 3' tall we could have set the stopper lower and allowed for a couple extra inches of ROM but the shorter movement actually kept more tension directly on the delt rather than triceps. So it worked out pretty well after all. I like to use the dead stops to reduce extraneous movement during the transfer from eccentric to concentric. No bouncing, no momentum, just constant tension on the delts.

A bit of footage from a pull day I hit a couple of days ago. Remember, if you want a thick back, make sure you incorporate a bunch of rows into your routine! T-Bar rows is one of my favourite variations. Rows will build that overall mass and thickness in your back. You don’t have to go super heavy but make sure to pull with your elbows instead of your hands to minimise the bicep activation and get all the emphasis on your back.

If the only improvements you make are the lbs you lose during contest prep, you're doing bodybuilding wrong. When prep is over you can relax a little more because there's not as much demand on the body to expend calories. BUT, that's also when it's time to really get to work and be focused. This is when you actually change your physique. You're not bringing up weak points during prep. A smaller % of total competitors are coming to shows better than their previous appearance than in prior years and I attribute it to the fact that people wanna be on stage all the time.

Do we really need to be sick to appreciate our health? I haven’t been sick for 10 years, and now i am sick already since friday (today i am finally getting better). No appetite, fever, sleeping all day, painful skin and muscles etc etc. Diagnosed with intestinal infection. It sucks to be sick. But it has something wonderful too. It gives you the chance to appreciate your health. How often do you think: “wow, breathing in and breathing out, that’s so amazing!” or “having a normal body temperature, that feels so wonderful”. Usually we just don’t feel these things, exactly because they are normal. But given the contrast of e.g. fever, you’ll be more than able to feel and appreciate your normal body temperature. And this normal body temperature feels great. I wish I could appreciate my health in that way more from time to time. The hardest part for me is not working, not being able to train and not being able to eat properly 😫 Time and rest heals so thats exactly what I am doing. My workout routine consists of a mix of fullbody, upper/lower, and split. How I made this routine was that it started as fullbody everyday, which then moved on to upper and lower and then split. I felt that none of it worked til I came up with doing fullbody everyday but adding a twist to it. I would either go 25% on one part and 75% on the other. Improvised on a triceps move @hypertrophycoach posted a few day ago. He used a neutral grip bar and since I don't have that option at #BigDogsGym I used dumbbells instead. A couple things to consider: . . ▪︎Bring the dumbbells a little further down your torso at the bottom (hands a couple inches below the lower pec) to keep as much tension on the triceps as possible rather than the pecs. . . ▪︎I felt more triceps engagement by keeping my wrist at an angle as I pressed. Think of the dumbbells as a glass of water you're trying to drink (just a slight tilt backwards). . . ▪︎ Keep your scapula retracted so your shoulders don't aid in the press.
