I'd like to share with you something a beautiful woman I knew, Wilma Friday (may she continue to RIP) shared with me that I'll never forget: "Good things ain't cheap and cheap things ain't good." 💜
I bathe in this truth daily as I continue the journey of #Adulting. You will [*potentially & eventually] get back what you pour out. Yeah, I put some *disclaimers on it cause it's not a quid pro quo type of deal. It's more like a 401k super pension. This is for the long-term.
So please don't short-change yourself. Don't be stingy with your time; don't play cheap with things of great value; don't withhold honest feeling or invest a mere pittance in a treasured person & expect RICH💰returns. The universe just doesn't work like that.
I know it's a bit of a gamble, and there is a potential for betting on the wrong horse. But trust-n-believe if you are wisely & diligently investing in that dream / career / loved one / business idea etc. it WILL PAY OFF. Yes it'll cost you something. But being miserly with your ambitions, your faith, your heart--- that'll cost you so much more.
P.S. I'm sure she also meant don't buy cheap clothes, well-made ones last longer; don't hire the cheapest contractor, you'll regret the subpar quality of the work & the shortcuts they will take; basically you get what you pay for and shit like that too. I just took that template and ran with it!!! 😆😆😆
