This morning was like no other. My alarm went off at 6:15am, I contemplated dismissing the entire thing and going back to bed. But I made a decision to start the day early and I wanted to keep my promise!! So, I woke up to a dark sky, had my coffee on the balcony and listened to morning affirmations to set my mind. Next, I suited up and went on a jog (it’s been about 6 yrs since I last jogged 😰) i forgot how much jogging clears my mind. I had music playing in my earbuds and cold air in my lungs. I returned home and everyone was still sleeping 🙌🏻 I quickly showered, and did some makeup. I partially got dressed, had my shake for breakfast and then, my little monster woke up 🦖 I got EVERYTHING done on my to-do list... I ate a healthy lunch, took Leah around to ride her bike 🚲 , then put Leah for a nap and got a sweat sesh in!! It’s been nonstop!! It just shows(!) one good decision turns into a bunch of good decisions/ productivity. Don’t settle into bad habits. We have the power to change em. It’ll take time... but know, YOU’RE CAPABLE OF SO MUCH MORE!!!!

Thankful Tuesday! Today, March 26, is the 10th anniversary of meeting Eric and 9th wedding anniversary. I would not be able to be me without Eric. We all need #runsupport and no one does more. It's been a long week. I pulled my back out on Wednesday and haven't been able to do much. Yes you can. Yes you can. This was repeated to me over and over by my trainer at the gym today. It’s funny, we don’t often even catch ourselves saying we can’t but we do it all the time. As soon as she would say it I’d notice what I was thinking. Often it was “this feels hard” or “I need to slow down”. But the moment we get out of our heads and recognize that it’s just a thought and we are stronger than our thoughts, we can push through. Maybe you’re saying you “can’t” to making better decisions around eating or getting to the gym more often or having more patience with your kids. Perhaps it’s to asking for that promotion you know you deserve or taking those 10 minutes a day for yourself. Bottom line is you can. ☝🏽 Don’t BLAME your JOB for not investing TIME in yourself⏰ - As a pilot wife, I am usually home so I am left with a majority of keeping the house clean, while working my 💻online business, and taking care of my 3 cats 🐈 who I am a slave to 🤪 I also know that i have such limited time with my man so I try my best to make the most of it while still doing the daily activities like laundry and dishes. We had such an epic day yesterday doing mundane things, and we loved every minute of it. Grocery shopping, dry cleaning, laundry, dishes, cooking dinner, packing bags for a trip, this is the life of someone in the aviation industry. Sometimes schedules really suck, but you can still find a little time to enjoy where you are and the time you do have. - 👫We have always worked well as a team, and we were able to do all the chores so that we could end the night with the absolute YUMMIEST FREAKING DINNER EVER. Making dinner at home was a last minute decision I made when I was grabbing groceries for my husband’s food for his trip. Together we made BBQ 🍖 Tofu Slabs, Curried Tahini Sauce, Roasted Rainbow 🌈 Carrots, Baked Sweet Potato 🍠, and Baked Beets. All because we decided to just inject a little self-love into our day. It could have been super easy for me to let Jesse go do all the errands while I cleaned house. However, we see a value in doing things together when we are away from each other often. - When my husband is gone, I think about my work, and stick to my routine while still remembering to take time for myself to infuse my energy. I think of it as a reinvigoration tool. So, any time you feel blah, or stuck do some #selflove rituals. I have been super mindful of this for myself this month since my hubby has been gone. ⭐️ (Swipe right on the 🎠 carousel to see my rituals) - 🏁I challenge you to look at some ways you can utilize your time better, so that you can MAXMIZE your JOY FACTOR without the excuse of your job. It doesn’t have to be a long drawn out process to give yourself some love. ✨Zesty Spaghetti✨ This is an absolute must for this week’s meal... Especially now we have some Spring sunshine to compliment our zesty flavours! 🍋☀️ ✨ Serves 2 ✨ • Ingredients • ✨ 300g wholegrain spaghetti, salt, pepper, 3tbsp olive oil, 1tsp cayenne pepper powder, 2 garlic cloves finely chopped; 1 red chilli finely chopped, 1 red onion chopped, 2 handfuls of chopped kale, 6 mini plum tomatoes chopped in half, 1 courgette halved lengthways and sliced, 200g salmon, juice of 2 large fresh lemons & grated parmesan. ✨ • Instructions • ✨ Heat your oven to approx 200c. Place salmon in roasting tray, season with salt, 1tsp cayenne pepper, 1 fresh lemon juice & put into the oven to cook for approx 15 mins. Place all your vegetables into another baking tray, except the kale- add this in 4 mins before they’re almost ready. Add the salt, pepper, garlic, chilli, lemon juice & mix it all together with the vegetables. Place this into the oven to cook for approx 15-20 mins. Whilst all of these are roasting, cook your wholegrain spaghetti as per cooking instructions on your packet. Once all these are cooked, find your way of presenting these beautifully on your plate and finish it off with a sprinkle of parmesan on top. I used to be the QUEEN of quick fixes. Seriously ask any of my closest friends and I was the girl who had just ordered the latest trend, quick fix, fad, belt, whatever that promised to help you drop weight quick “without changing your diet or exercise“. . And I was always excited about it. “This is it guys. This one is really gonna work I just know it is I mean it sounds amazing.” Seriously. It was bad. And to make matters worse, I was breastfeeding at this time. And I was so desperate to get skinny I really allowed myself to go all day without eating or whatever else. (I’ll share more in my stories) I’m not proud of it but this is the harsh reality of the comparison game we all fall victim to. These things never worked y’all. Or if it did it it was extremely short term and always made me feel like crap 🤷🏻‍♀️ no bueno. Know what did work? Hard work ✔️ Consistency✔️ My workout programs and custom meal plan and literally doing it even on the hard days! (That is key) ✔️✔️✔️✔️ . Wanna lose weight? Work hard. Find something that works for you and STICK 👏🏼 WITH 👏🏼 IT. I preach and preach about fitness and nutrition and health every day, but I don’t do this so I can be skinny or to brag. I do this cause when I realized how good it felt to be strong and to FEEL good and to fall in love with myself, I never wanted to go back to feeling sluggish and hating myself so much I would deprive myself of the joys of life. And I so seriously wish the same for you. Cause I STILL remember how it felt back then. I. Have. Been. There. So if you stick around I hope I can do that for you. When I went from being in college, living, breathing, and working at a gym ➡️ full time corporate life, I found all the excuses: I don’t have the energy, when am I going to go, commuting takes forever, what do I eat... ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ And so much more. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 💥But here’s the thing: While you need to take care of your other responsibilities and relationships, YOU also need nurturing. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ If you didn’t know, IG actually TRACKS the amount of time being spent on the app. Even our phones have it! ⁣⁣ Real quick, I urge you to see how long you’re spending on Instagram. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Scary right? 🙄⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ If you think you don’t have time, MAKE time. OK I don’t even know where to start with these pizzas 🍕 but DAYUMMMMMM they were two of the yummiest I have had... LIKE EVER 🌱 •• @nurcha_bodymindearth you have out done yourselves here, well worth the road trip for sneaky visits. How weekends should be spent 🥳 •• For me this is also a reflection of how far I have come, and now without any hesitation I look forward to going out and enjoying food. Finding food freedom is something I work on every singe day and will continue to. 💕 •• A few things that I thought about was normally I would have skipped breakfast knowing I was going to have a big lunch, or come home and not have dinner. These things for me are huge milestones 🥳 and on this day I can tell you I had it all from breakfast 👉🏼 dinner and dessert 👌 •• I have learnt to keep it simple and don’t over complicate food. Eat when your hungry 😋 and for me trying to remember that food is not the enemy at all. I have developed such an amazing relationship with food now and it makes me so happy, because it’s taken so much work to get to this point. 🥰 •• @nicolesdailyeats 😎 let’s go back, ready when you are 😂 SO THE decision was hard but we opted for Thai fusion curry & and Peacelovers pizza...
