I want to talk to you about my abusive relationship 😳-with food. ⠀⠀ Throughout my masters degree I have been introduced to a different perception of eating disorders. We traditionally think of anorexia or bulimia, but these are simply one☝🏼 category of disease. A persons relationship with food is developed from infancy to adulthood, we create patterns of behavior and a true relationship with food. Some look at it as enjoyment, some look at it as purely nutrition, some look at it as a creative hobby, some associate with emotions including love, happiness, despair,and depression. (most food advertising associate happiness with food) ⠀⠀ My relationship with food, I have discovered, is less than ideal. I look to food for pleasure OR purely as fuel. Every day I calculate my macro nutrient intake, I review the foods that I am take for micro nutrients to support my metabolism especially my thyroid. I look to consistently consume foods that cleanse and remove toxins from the body, but on days where I fall off course, I abuse food. 😑I know I’m not alone in this there are many people who struggle with eating disorders or maladaptive eating behaviors. Knowing your relationship with food is a first step in correcting it. I log my food, as soon as I started logging my emotions I noticed a trend. Negative emotions lead to negative food choices.I know I simply can’t be happy all the time and therefore choose good food all the time -I wouldn’t be human. But once I began actively noticing the negative decisions I would make around food-I made less of them. Now don’t give me wrong - everything in moderation. I can still have a good day and get an ice cream 🍦 with my friends, or have a bad day and make a beautifully nutritious salad.🥗But I challenge you to take notice of your food decisions in association with how you feel. Since so many people don’t know how I started, here’s a something to read. - This also goes towards to the guys reminding them that I’m not wasting my time - 14 years old jumping into the gym not knowing a damn thing, why ? Body dysmorphia. All I thought I had to do was eat nothing and train harder everyday on the cardio equipment. - 15 years old been introduced to the weights. Still for the pure reason of body dysmorphia, as I learnt how to use it, I’ve seen all the progress with it and with that I’ve had so much satisfaction for my self - 16 years old in the gym day in and out consistently pumping the weights learning I had to eat right, figure out my calories and train right. That’s where I thought personal training is the right spot for me and the idea of bodybuilding occurred to me. - 17 years old I fucked up and found my self at the bottom, why. Because of the environment I surrounded my self with, gained weight, lost my spiritual side of things and fucked up being at 124 kg but aye, guess what. I don’t regret it - 18 years old I decided to take up the course of being a personal training not caring what anyone else thought. Walking into the institute at my weakest physically and mentally, and coming out that at the end as a personal trainer being my strongest, being bullet proof - Now I haven’t been through a lot, but I’ve been through enough to impact me and to change where I’m heading towards. - I’m now a personal trainer at one of the best gyms I could be hired at, constantly being reminded that if I stick to what I’m doing not giving a fuck what anyone tells me, everything will come. Make sure you SAVE this post💜😍. . . Pre Workout Training Snack: White choc banana and raspberry slice 😍🙌🏼 . . Ingredients: ✨Wholegrain Spelt Flour (260g) ✨Baking Soda (2g) ✨Smashed Ripe Banana (190g) ✨Yo Pro vanilla flavoured yoghurt (150g) ✨Honey (90g) OR maple syrup ✨Full cream unhomogenised milk (Da best milk 😉 70ml) ✨Frozen raspberries (150g) Can use strawberries too! ✨Cinnamon (2-3g) ✨White choc chips (75g for the wet mix) (20g to place on top) ✨Natvia Raspberry Jam (for spread) optional. . . Method: 1️⃣Pre heat oven to 180 degree Celsius. 2️⃣Line a baking tin with baking paper. 3️⃣Place all dry ingredients in a bowl and mix. 4️⃣In a seperate bowl, add banana + honey + milk and mix.Keep mixing until it’s reached a smooth consistency. 5️⃣Then add the raspberries and 75g of choc chips to the wet mix. Add the dry mix to the wet mix and mix thoroughly. 6️⃣Pour batter into baking tin, making sure it’s evenly distributed.Spread the remaining 20 g of white choc chips on top. 7️⃣Place in the oven and bake for around 25 mins or until a skewer comes out clean. Let it cool for 15 mins. Slice and serve with @natvialiving raspberry jam spread. . . Enjoy 😘 serves 8!

We 💚 @norwich_junior_parkrun (High five to all the other mums doing it in sunglasses hiding their eye bags! 🤣 I’m proud of us for getting out there and doing it) We are trying to educate the children about making healthier choices. I don’t really make any time for me to exercise properly, I run around with the kids but does that really count? I always have an excuse and I regularly skip meals or eat on the go. I blame my ADHD meds not giving me an appetite or them wearing off and me being too distracted to even think about food but it’s another excuse. I just don’t make myself a priority. How can I expect them to make good choices if I don’t. If you see me eating rubbish or not stopping for lunch slap me. Today marks the start of taking responsibility & learning together - starting with fitness. 💛
