Centre Pompidou is the largest museum for modern art in Europe. Unfortunately we got there too late to visit long which really bums me as I really love modern art. Of note, one of the principal architects of this high tech architecture is Renzo Piano— also the principal architect for the #krausegatewaycenter in downtown Des Moines. 😵 I’ll be back.

“Lightness, simplicity and openness. The four vast planes flying over the site will emphasize the lightness and the transparency of the building, and they will be in dialogue with the sculpture park nearby. The building is a real gateway between the different parts of the city, and it is designed not only to host the company but also to become, with its exterior public spaces, a real “place to be”. A new destination for the people in downtown Des Moines.”, Renzo Piano @kumandgo #KrauseGatewayCenter #inauguration #DesMoines #Rpbw #RenzoPiano #architecture #KumandGo #newheadquarters #lightness #transparency #openness #gateway #placeforpeople • • • © Michel Denancé

This is the new multi million corporate headquarters of convenience store Kum $ Go. It was designed by famed Italian architect Renzo Piano. It’s like an art museum inside full of air and light. It actually has an art museum inside. It’s in beautiful downtown Des Moines. I call it the Jetsons building. It looks really awesome at night. I’ll post a few other views. If you’re interested in viewing the inside just google kum & Go Corp HQ in Des Moines #kumandgo #corporatelife #corporateheadquarters #krausegatewaycenter #sunset #architecture #glasswall #glasswalls #arounddubuque #aroundiowa #desmoines @desmoinesdna #desmoinesiowa

After 16 years of working in this building, I pulled in for the last time today. Excited for new adventures downtown. #krausegatewaycenter

Check out these BIM vs Field comparisons! (Be sure to swipe left to see them all!) Most of my time is spent obsessing over the nearly 1,400 structural steel penetrations and notches on Krause Gateway Center in Downtown Des Moines. This unique building has ceiling-to-floor above thickness as small as 40” (yes, that’s inches). This requires nearly all of the MEPFS systems to run through, rather than under as in typical construction. BIM and VDC has played a huge role in this project for that reason alone. #beforeandafter #krausegatewaycenter
