In May 2017 I stomped the roads of my hometown ish (Copenhagen) for this annual marathon and I was pretty pleased to take home the time of 03:20:48.
The new goal for CPH 2019 has to be closer to the 3hr mark. 👀
Although I have not per se structured my training for marathon PB and only recently embraced a new regime/routine aided by @polar Vantage V and product/supplement trials courtesy of @xendurance_eu - one of the supplements in the mix is the Xendurance Lactic Acid Buffer - which I am hoping might be my friend when hitting the inevitable wall on the marathon. Stay with me if you want to nerd over a little bit of science here.. 👨🔬🤓
Too much lactic acid is the enemy of anyone who wants to run longer, with greater intensity and still recover fast. When lactate is produced faster than your muscles can flush it, the acidic hydrogen ions lower the pH in the muscle, causing the familiar burn, cramps and muscle damage. The aim for this supplement is to nullify those nasty ions, cut lactic build-up by 26 per cent and reduces muscle damage. Let's see! Keep you posted... 🤙
