Well here's to #StartoverSunday
I was looking into the different ingredients of my products today to see what they do and discovered a silicone in the conditioner I've been using since I "started" the #curlygirlmethod a month ago 🤦
So I guess this is my new day one. I co-washed (for the first time ever) and conditioned with the Garnier Papaya Hair Food. No product as I was travelling and forgot to take my lube with me 🤦. In other news I had a chop✂️ on Thursday so get rid of the split ends that I'd developed since my last cut, which was all the way back in July! I'm not 100% happy with the shape but it's better than leaving my dead ends any longer.
So then... Day One:Mark Two of the Curly Girl Method. I'm pleased with the way my co-wash turned out, it's a little greasy in parts but I expected much more build up considering my hair gets producty very quickly! My curls are still recovering from my haircut so they're as good as I expected them to be, hopefully I'll grow to like this shape more as my curls return 🤞
And as for my mistake with my conditioner, I'm pretty frustrated, but this also means that the lank curls I was experiencing for the last few weeks are because of nasty silicones, not because of my hair being rubbish! I'm off to the shops tomorrow to buy some apple cidre vinegar to clarify and some new, CGM safe products!
So here's to new beginnings (again 🙊) and better results from here on out!
