Gasterntal: Following a steep hike over ridges and scree slopes, we arrived at the bottom of a 300m (1000ft) high overhanging wall on a cold crisp February morning. To reach the entrance of Geltenbach cave we had to climb 70m (230ft) up rope. Despite the summer drying of the waterfall the exploration of the cave only takes place in winter when historically water does not pour from the cave.
Eight years since this project started, writer Olivier Christe and I were fortunate to be invited to join the team of explorers on one of their expeditions as part of a project for Greenpeace magazine. Stay tuned for more as we unravel this fascinating story. #climatechange #adventure #explore #exploration #Geltenbach #cave #winter #snow #valley #Kandersteg #Greenpeace #Switzerland #greenpeacemagazin @greenpeacemagazin @greenpeaceuk
