Little Langdale: ⠀

⠀
🐣 Happy Easter! 🐣.. Awesome weather for bagging some epic fell adventures this weekend! 😜⠀
⠀
Atmosphere scenes from Slater’s Bridge, Little Langdale - an ancient 16C packhorse bridge which enabled quarry men of the time to cross the River Brathay for easy access to the nearby workings.⠀
⠀
For a chilled feature rich family walk, approach the bridge from the quaint village of Elterwater, not forgetting a picnic to enjoy those sweet green utopian scenes.. From there head over a stile/gate up to Cathedral Quarry - the tunnel entrance is clearly marked with a notice from the NT. The short tunnel opens up to an impressive manmade cavern with a large skylight illuminating the chamber. ⠀
⠀
From here, there are various tunnels to explore and a light scrambling section at the back of the cave which exits a little higher up than the entrance you came in from. Although a great adventure for kids and big kids, as always, care must be taken around the quarry area.⠀
⠀
Once suitably explored, re-join the path where you entered the quarry and continue the walk back to Elterwater.. At approx 4.5 miles and predominantly well pathed, it makes a top circular route option for those after a relaxing low level walk with plenty of interest.⠀
