How’s your 2019 been so far? 🌾——————————————
First off, before I discuss this wonderful wheat, let me apologize for my string of absences in my stewardship of this account. The discipline of grain reviewing is not to be taken lightly, and the absence of a WiFi connection is no excuse. We’re back, we’re vibing, we’re living, we’re thriving, and it is my utmost wish to help make 2019 a better year than ever in wheat critiquing circles. Without further ado, let’s get to the review. I am struck by the peaceful and artistic composition of the background in this scene. A tricolor of slate blues fade into pearly whites of the puffy clouds drifting in the sky, semblances of their outlines just barely visible through the heavy blur, before finally giving way to the golden hues of the wheat beneath. This background to me communicates a carefree synergy between the three sections of this picture—the clouds bridge earth and sky, field and faraway expanses, blurred in order to cede focus to the wheat stalks starring in the center of this scene, but still barely visible enough to hint at what lies beyond. If only this wheat were equally as meditative. Three stalks take center stage in this field, their stems coalescing to what appears to be single point, emphasizing their strong sense of unity and camaraderie. The awns of this wheat are bold, almost aggressive, flaunting their status, waving flamboyantly in the wind, almost daring the viewer to do something about it. In my humble opinion, a certain je ne sais quoi in the angles at which this wheat is arranged effuse sass and brazenness, like the fingers of a hand waving to dismiss something. This clique of wheat is the first to hear all the gossip in the fields, and you can bet your bottom kernel that they’ll come out on top despite whatever futile attempts one might make to challenge their supremacy. Unapologetically plastic, preppy, and with a dash of delusions of grandeur, these wheat stalks are truly the Mean Grains of their social sphere. I rate this wheat a 9.4/10 for its combination of audacious composure and artistic composition.
