An empty mind is a still mind.. And a still mind is a peaceful mind.. Crisp calm scenes emanating from this serene shot of Brothers Water.
Located in the Hartsop Valley, in the eastern region of the Lake District, lies the small humble lake of Brothers Water.
Once known as Broad Water, the name is said to have changed in the 19C after two brothers drowned there. As one of Lakeland’s more remote lakes, the area is particularly quiet and attracts an abundance of wildlife, particularly in the spring and summer period.
For those after a leisurely afternoon lakeside amble, Brothers Water makes a great option.. Starting at Cow Bridge car park, this super scenic low level, easy walk takes you along the lakes wooded shoreline to Skyeline campsite with the Brotherswater Inn close by making a convenient refreshment break. Along the way you will also pass the historic Harsop Hall (16C grade l listed building, now owned the NT). To return where you started, either retrace your steps or take the circular option of looping back via the A592 roadside. Although a quiet road usually driven with care, this final section should be treated full caution. 📷 photo by @fotogra_fi
