The basalt sea stacks of Vík í Mýrdal and the roaring Atlantic Ocean. Stayed in Vik a couple of days to photograph the nearby spots – Dyrhólaey, Reynisdrangar, and the two waterfalls – Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. Nice conditions on the first day but everything went crazy after. Forecast said that rain, strong winds, and hazardous waves were expected. Based on my experience, driving at 25m/s or 90kph gusts is still manageable, just need to be alert and extra careful. We went ahead with our plan the following morning and drove to Skógafoss for a dramatic sunrise but ended up getting soaked! The wind started to pick up on our way back and I asked my friend “I wonder what will Reynisdrangar be like at this time?” Boom. Atlantic Ocean at it’s wildest form.
