This is Dave. Actually, he doesn’t have a name, so I’ve just been calling him that. Dave and a few dozen of his closest acquaintances hitched a ride with some amazing folks in horse trailers filled with straw from Northern Saskatchewan where they were living outside. The drafty horse trailers may not sound luxurious, but they were better than white limousines for these pups. After a confusing ride, Dave and his friends were unloaded at Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue near Canmore. They had a huge dog play to celebrate their move up in the world. I spent the afternoon at the rescue with Rory (who runs the rescue) so many volunteers. My task was to meet and photo document each pup. (I love volunteering). After this, I took Dave home with me. He met Beans then we went to Banff to run in the snow and eat frozen elk poop (this was more for him than me). Dave is one of the easiest dogs I can remember and I don’t think he’s spent much time in anyone’s house. Our stairs confused him, but he made the effort to navigate them in order to nap (travel days are exhausting) on the couch. Dave loves cuddles, but he’s still trying to figure out the rest of human life. I had to lift him into my car the first time, but each time after that he checked it out from every angle and stepped in himself (he really liked being IN the car, he just had to figure out the entry method). If you know someone who would love Dave for now or forever, he is available for foster or adoption from @rmarescue. #foster #adopt
