“My journey into fitness began because I hated my body in my late teens. I was overweight, and I put myself through many unhealthy diets trying to get skinny. In 2011, I decided to become certified as a personal trainer so that I could learn about weightlifting and healthier ways to live. It wasn’t until 2015, though, that I found powerlifting. After competing in my first meet after just three months of training, I was hooked. I fell in love with being strong, and I started working out because I LOVED my body, not because I hated it. Powerlifting not only made me physically stronger, but it also made me mentally and emotionally stronger. 🍩 In addition to being a powerlifter, I am also a single mom of two and a survivor of domestic violence. Powerlifting, the community within, and the post-workout donuts have pushed me through many mentally and emotionally grueling days. After leaving the abuse, lifting was what kept me sane and stable. It has allowed me to have peace and be happy so I can be the best mom I can for my kids. 🍩 I love KFKF’s message of loving your body through staying active but without depriving yourself of the occasional donut. My goal is to inspire others to overcome, to find their inner strength, and to not feel guilty for exercising some self-love, whether that love is through lifting or eating. 🍩 My name is Sarah, I’ve mastered opening candy wrappers without my kids hearing, and I am a KFKF powerlifting athlete.”-Sarah, 56kg/123lb Elite Powerlifter, single mom, DV survivor, and KFKF athlete. 🍩 #kindafitkindafat #kfkf #iamkfkf #kfkftribe

“About 5 years ago I gradually put on a lot of weight over the years. I still played Rugby as a sport but I was losing interest in training at the gym. Training at a heavy bodyweight with low motivation can be very taxing. When I found Strongman, I immediately fell in love with the sport. It made me want to get in the gym to train, increase my strength, and learn new skill. I’ve actually put on even more bodyweight since then but definitely have more muscle underneath haha! . Along with fitness, I love and enjoy eating all types of food. My goal with eating is to fuel my body for what I need to do in training and in competition. To be a heavyweight strongman, you need to eat a lot to keep your weight up, so I always make sure I include foods that I enjoy so it’s not always a chore for me to eat haha. I love the moving events of Strongman and I consider myself to be athletic despite being 190kg. I support the KFKF Brand and Mission because it promotes and brings light to how athleticism comes in all shapes and sizes. I may not have abs in the gym, but I can pull a truck and deadlift a car 🤙🏽 . My name is Eddie Williams. I am a 2 x Australia’s Strongest Man, Southern Hemisphere’s Strongest Man, and a World’s Strongest Man Competitor, and I am KFKF.” - Eddie Williams, Professional Strongman, father, husband, and KFKF Strongman Athlete.

“My path to finding powerlifting was far from linear, to say the least. Honestly, my life in the fitness world has been all over the spectrum, going from one extreme to another. It all started when I was a sophomore in high school. I wanted to lose a little weight, tone up a bit, you know, the usual goals for the aspiring beginner. But, what was a little goal turned into an unfortunate few years of mental and physical struggle. 🍪 It was like a flip of a switch. I didn't know how or why it started, and even to this day, I still don’t. I developed a body dysmorphia issue and was quickly consumed by a world of anorexic tendencies. I barely ate, I worked out excessively, and I dropped from 125 pounds down to 89 in just a few short months. I spent my whole junior year of high school in the worst state of mind I could have ever possibly imagined. I struggled daily when I looked at myself in the mirror, when food was placed in front of me, or when anyone made any kind of comment in regards to my appearance. 🍩 Flash forward to June of 2017, I made a drive over to California Elite Training Center after watching a couple powerlifting meets in the weeks prior. I walked into this huge warehouse garage and I immediately felt like for the first time in what seemed like my whole life, I was in the exact place I was supposed to be. 💪🏽 I’ve been training as a powerlifter for two years now. Not only has my physical strength increased, but mentally, I have become the strongest version of myself that I have ever been. When I look in the mirror, I now see a strong woman, who has achieved things on multiple platforms that I never thought were possible. When food is placed in front of me, I don’t shy away from it anymore. I gladly take it and enjoy every last bite of whatever it may be. Finally, when someone makes a comment towards my physical appearance, whether it’s positive or negative, I hit them with a double bicep flex, a big ol’ smile on my face, and I go about my day. 🍙 My name is Jennessa and I am the happiest, healthiest, and heaviest I’ve ever been in my entire life and I am KFKF.” - Jennessa, Teacher, KFKF Powerlifting Athlete . #kindafitkindafat #kfkftribe #iamkfkf
