That’s me waiving bye to 2019 👋🏽 —
With only one day left in the year, we think back about what we could have done differently. Some big things, but some small too. I noticed that I rarely share anything about myself online. It’s probably due to my previous career in the NYPD, but I’m going to make more of an effort in 2020 and I hope you all do the same. So I thought I’d start early. Check my story for an “About Me,” that talks a bit about my life before social media (if you’re so young you don’t know what life was like prior to social media, then you missed out a little) and how I landed in Hawaii from NYC. Here are some highlights. ——
-My family is from New York City, but I was born in New Jersey. -I grew up wakeboarding in Florida. -After college, I moved to NYC for graduate school, to study forensic psychology and completed research projects for the FBI. -I joined the NYPD at 22 years old. -My favorite color is blue. -I’ve been shot at, pepper sprayed, thrown thru walls, and I totaled 2 NYPD cruisers during pursuits. -I’ve taken about 20 polygraphs, but I’ve really lost count. (If you’re wondering, they don’t work, it’s all pseudoscience nonsense). -I’m an atheist / skeptic. -I mostly spent my time at work conducting large scale investigations for conspiracy to comment murder. -I value science, rational thought, critical thinking, and reason above anything else. -I was part of a plain clothes unit in Harlem designed to take guns off the street. -I became an expert witness in gang terminology. -I retired as an NYPD detective in 2016. -I’ve been shooting photography
professionally for 1.5 years. -First time I picked up a real camera was in Africa in 2009. -I live in Kailua, Oahu. -I’ve traveled to 5 continents and about 50 countries. I have a about 160 left. ——
