I go for a run. I typically could do 5-7 times around as a workout. It’s been at least a year since I did that workout. I go around two times. I’m completely winded. This is the start of my journey. July 5, 2018 - 228 lbs I’m finally starting to catch a groove of working out after a month trial and error. Working out, running outside, biking indoors, elliptical every other day, and BASKETBALL. I was playing basketball 5 days a week. I am working out at 5am everyday and meal prepping is starting to be a thing now. I realize food plays the biggest role in all of this. September 22nd, 2018 - 198 lbs After another three months, I have changed the game. I am now running three miles two times a week. Playing basketball 4 times a week and working out four/five days a week. My meal prep game is getting better to the point where I am measuring food and looking to hit the major food groups. December 25, 2018 - 178 lbs I had REACHED MY GOAL of losing 50 pounds by the end of December. But “what’s next”? How do I maintain? Is it about lifiting more weight? Running farther? The answer to these questions is simple... the best goal you can set is one where you compete against yourself. For the last six months I have focused on competeing against myself and I can say that at 30 years old... I’m in the best shape of my life, I’m eating the healthiest I ever have, and I feel the best I ever have. When you start your own JOURNEY remember: It’s a lifestyle change. Results do not happen overnight. Maximum effort=Maximum results “Trust the process” - it’s proven. The last year has given a renewed view/faith/energy on fitness. @sims_court (who has a tremendous amount of education, experience and expertise in the world of fitness/nutrition) and I are starting something called @journey___fitness . We will be documenting different workouts, sharing peoples’ fitness stories, showcasing healthy food, and giving insight into fitness that we have gained over years. Believing In Giving It Time • 📝 Started the year thankful for two major lessons at work and general training. On the latter, one injury was all I needed to know I’ll never put myself in that position again and building takes time. • 🎾 Decided that I shall trust my legs to do what it is capable of when I need it back in the right state at the right time. Taking the physio’s advice to dial back on the runs now and instead focus on good ol kneading and conditioning to correct the muscle imbalance first.
