If life was a horror movie, are you going to hide or run?
Sleeping on the couch guarantees I will get up when I need to. My bed is too comfortable.
This is such a direct correlation to my life. When things are comfortable I will make every excuse on why I shouldn’t break the cycle. The thought of resistance seems too astronomical to tackle.
It’s like when you’re watching one of those horror movies, and the person starts making mistakes which are going to lead to their demise. From the outside, not being in the thick of the situation, you can voice your opinion on how they should react and maneuver through. When it’s you in the situation, sitting in a closet not trying to make a sound while they are searching the house doesn’t seem like that bad of an idea. Obviously no action becomes the action and we all know that it is only a matter of time until you’re caught, but again being in the situation is completely different than seeing it from the outside.
So that leaves us with the question, “What is the appropriate move to make?” Do I risk it all for a chance to live? Or do I choose to do nothing with the hopes that problems will just change on their own?
This is a reminder to myself to continue finding ways to force action. I have 3 rambunctious kittens, so sleeping on the couch is a surefire way to have them jump on me in the morning to prompt me to get up. Or I can choose the comfortable way and lay in my bed with the door shut, so there is no way for them to disrupt my comfortable sleeping arrangement.
