Wanna test your power output? Try this one on. 15 cal @assaultairbike as fast as possible, 3 minute recovery spin. Repeat 3 times. Even with quads actually painful to the touch, managed to rip off the first round in :15, then :22, and :20. I remember a time when 15 cals in a minute was a difficult pace. Went heavier than planned on this snatch complex today. Worked up to 100kg for snatch pull+hang snatch+ snatch after hitting 90 and 95. Then hit a 185kg pause squat followed by a set of 8 at 150 which didn't feel too hard. Felt like I could've done at least 2 more reps. Just because my knee was feeling better I still needed to make sure that I wasn’t going to reinsure my knee so I was still modifying some of my activity. This is where people make the mistake. They have taken time off and haven’t loaded their tendons to get them stronger and they will go back to full workout and reinjure it. This will start the viscous cycle of rest reinjury and delay the healing process long term. Late stage rehab looks a like like regular workouts with some specific tendon loading. 1️⃣Hang Squat cleans- I still needed to be careful here not to go to heavy but I had to continue to work through my new movement pattern so that I was fixing the underlying cause. 2️⃣Split Squat Jump- I continued to work plyometric single leg work. To make sure asymmetries aren’t developed and to make sure that I could stop that hip shift that was the cause all along. Once I was pain free throughout all the phases and no longer tender to the touch I stopped modifying the load of my workouts and returned to full sport. I anticipated being out 4 weeks of heavy modifications in the gym but because I got after it immediately I was feeling near 100% in 2 weeks. In the best of times things go by in a blur and in the worst it feels as though it’s frozen. Yet regardless of the speed at which it appears to pass our memories store vivid pictures of the very greatest and our most devastating moments. Therefor most days and moments pass, don’t stand out and are forgotten...That day when I found out their intention was to give you away, time froze, and I pleaded with God to give me more time as I held you. Every minute that year stands out and is so vivid because of the uncertainty and impending pain on the horizon. Yet as painful as that year was, as vivid as my memory is of every second it taught me something. Taught me how important time really is. This world is full of distractions that try to rob your time, things that frankly don’t matter. As you grow I urge you to remember that. When we run out of time we won’t remember the emails we answered or the Facebook post we made but rather the people we loved and who loved us. Today I will dedicate to you 24hours of my time, undivided, and undistracted. This day likely be the most painful physically in my entire life. Yet, I know this is not the hardest test WE have faced and overcome. I’m not the only one doing this, Michelle, Gram, Pappy, and an army of people will be there to support and make a statement saying we love you. There is no guarantee of the time we have left here but I do guarantee that this day will stand out hopefully as a love letter to you to illustrate how wanted you are and have always been, how valuable you are and will always be. My time is yours, and so is my heart, Daddy loves you.
